Decision & conditions
68236_Decision_Notice_-_REFUSE.pdfPlanning conditions
- The proposal, by virtue of its overtly classical design, form and detailing, would appear out of keeping with the architectural character of the listed building. The prominent treatment of the porch, serving a secondary entrance, introduces an undue level of visual emphasis that draws attention away from the building’s established composition. As a result, the proposal would appear incongruous and would detract from the legibility of the building’s historic form and architectural coherence. The proposal is therefore contrary to Section 16 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990, Policy LP19 of the Peterborough Local Plan (2019), and Section 16 of the National Planning Policy Framework (2024)(2025 as amended), as well as Historic England guidance.
