Decision & conditions

Refused
Planning conditions
  1. The proposed alterations and extensions would appear as incongruous additions that are poorly related to the traditional form of the building and are harmful to the character and appearance of the building and the Eglwyswrw Conservation Area. In particular the flat roof design of the ground floor extension and the scale and material finish of the proposed dormer windows would be at odds with the traditional character and appearance of the host dwelling. Furthermore, the removal of the central chimney stack would reduce the architectural form of the existing roof. As such, the proposed development would not protect or enhance the character of the Conservation Area or its setting in conflict with policy GN.38 Protection and Enhancement of the Historic Environment.
