Decision & conditions

Refused
Planning conditions
  1. The proposed domestic garage/ancillary building would appear incongruous in its form, scale and external materials. In particular the proposal provides limited justification for the scale and height of the building. It’s design and appearance is poorly related to the traditional form of the dwelling, and it would be harmful to the character and appearance of the adjoining listed building, and the wider vernacular architecture of the locality. In particular the asymmetrical roof design and the scale and material finish would be at odds with the traditional character and appearance of the host dwelling and the immediately adjoining listed building and wider vernacular architecture. As such, the proposed development would create an unacceptable visual impact on the setting of the adjoining listed building, and would not protect or enhance the character of the wider local vernacular in conflict with policy GN.1, GN.2 and GN.38 of the LDP.
