Planning conditions
  1. The proposed sign by reason of design, siting and scale, positioned adjacent to the trunk road would constitute an unneccessary sporadic adverstiment in a countryside location, which would be highly visible from the A477. The proposed advertisement has been designed to display the alcohol beverage ‘Barti Rum’ and would be 3 m in height. This is a product which is produced approximately 7 miles from the application site. The sign does not provide any form of instructions or direction and therefore the site bears no relation to the business premises. The sign would set an undesirable precedent for general advertising in the countryside and which would harm the character and appearance of the countryside at this location. The proposal therefore fails to comply with the requirements of criteria 1 and 2 of policy GN.1 (General Development Policy) of the Local Development Plan for Pembrokeshire (adopted 28 February 2013) and the advice set out in Technical Advice Note (TAN) 7: 'Outdoor Advertisement Control'.
