Planning conditions
  1. The application site is located within Pembroke Dock’s Conservation Area. No.2 is a mid-terrace property, two houses designed to appear as one large house with a pair of front doors. Currently the building is symmetrical and has original timber sliding sash windows and six panelled timber front doors. The current proposal for crude UPVC casement windows and a modern style front door to 2A would harm the existing symmetry of the building and the character and appearance of the conservation area. The proposal is therefore contrary to the above planning policies and is recommended for refusal. As such, the proposal would fail to comply with policies SP 1 (Sustainable Development), GN.1 (General Development Policy), GN.2 (Sustainable Design) and GN.38 (Protection and Enhancement of the Historic Environment) of the Local Development Plan for Pembrokeshire (adopted 23 February 2013). Furthermore, the proposed development would be at odds with Historic Environment (Wales) Act 2023 and with the aims of Technical Advice Note (TAN) 12: Design (2016), TAN 24: The Historic Environment (2017) and Planning Policy Wales (Edition 12).
