Council planning record

The external plastic cladding on the ground floor section of the front South-East fascia of our clubhouse at Priors Haven was badly damaged by storm 'Arwen' last autumn. A large area of cladding is now missing exposing the engineering brickwork behind. Our insurers have confirmed that we can infill the damaged area with new cladding. It has proved impossible to find new cladding which matches the existing (45 year old) plastic cladding. Even if we could find new cladding of a matching profile, any 'new' section of bright white cladding will not look good adjacent to 45 year old faded white cladding which is now brittle and nearing the end of its designed lifespan. We therefore propose to remove all of the cladding from the first floor 'side' external wall on the SW side of the clubhouse. This wall overlooks the section of flat roof over the single storey part of the building. We propose to use the best part of that salvaged cladding to repair the damaged section on the front fascia. Being of similar age and matching profile its faded white colour will match the remaining undamaged cladding on the front fascia. Finally we propose to apply a 'rendered' finish to the whole of the SW side wall in a colour to match the remaining building
