The details of the tree marked as Cherry Tree No. 1 on the plans which we are planning on removing are the following: - Type - the tree is an established white flowering cherry tree. - Size the main trunk of the tree is approximately 40cm across with the top branches reaching to a height of about 20ft with a span of 12 ft. - Location - the tree is located 12ft from the front door of the property to the left had side as you look from the road, it is1ft from the party wall with the neighbouring property No. 53, Mt Ararat Road. The reason for removal of the tree is: - There is a pre-existing cherry tree, Cherry Tree No. 2 on the plans, that Cherry Tree No. 1 is competing with and they are in close proximity. - Cherry Tree No. 1 is too close to the house and as it has grown in size the root system represents a potential danger to the property foundations. When removing some plants, a root of approximately 10-15cm in diameter was found 4ft from the front door of the property that extends toward the house itself.

  14. The case officer has written a draft report and made an initial recommendation.PA26/3263

For the purposes of both tree health and avoiding any nuisance to our neighbours from overlapping branches and light reduction, we wish to do the following works to 2 trees in our garden: Crown reduction to reduce the spread of the Silver Birch Tree from c 8m to 6m (height reduction by 2m from c12m to a maximum height of approx 10m) as shown as #1 near the rear boundary wall of our property in the attached plan. We also wish to remove a damaged 2.5 meter branch which is growing over our fence into the neighbour's property at 26 Fairfax Road. The branch comes out of the smaller right-hand of the 2 stems (viewed from our house) which grow from the trunk of the tree at 1m height. The smaller stem has a 15cm diameter at 1.5m above ground, and is below the main crown so will not constitute crown lifting. We will also want to do up to 20% crown thinning of the tree. For the Hawthorn Tree shown in the plan as #2 on the left hand side of our rear garden, We wish to undertake crown thinning of up to 20% and crown reduction of up to 1m, reducing the spread of the tree to c 2.5m and the maximum height to 3m once all stray shoots have been removed.

T1. Lawson Cypress Rear Seating Area: The tree has suffered partial mortality on its south-east flank, most likely attributable to drought stress combined with its position. Removal of the dead section would result in a slightly unbalanced crown; however, this should not compromise the tree’s structural integrity. As a precaution, it is recommended that the tree be inspected at six-monthly intervals to monitor its ongoing condition. Update: T1 Lawson Cypress is now 70% dead & my client wishes to remove & replace this tree. Remove x 2 large dead stems.
