This is notice to let you know that on 09 July 2026 the Council made the above Tree Preservation Order No. TP26/0013. A copy of the Order hasb een servered on the relvant parties. In summary it prohibits anyone from cutting down, topping or lopping any of the trees described in the First Schedule and shown on the map, without the Council's Consent. The Council has made the Order on the following grounds: A Section 211 Notification was recently received (ref: PA26/2245) outlining a proposal to remove a spruce located within the rear garden of 9 Evelyn Road, Ham. An assessment undertaken by a Council Arboricultural Officer found the tree to be in good physiological condition with no obvious defects evident from publicly accessible vantage points. Despite its location within a rear garden, the tree is visible from numerous points along Ham Street, where it can be seen both directly and above the surrounding roofscape. Owing to its height, evergreen character and distinctive form, the tree is a prominent feature within the local treescape and makes a positive year round contribution to the character of the area. The tree provides significant evergreen relief, softens the built environment and forms part of an important sylvan backdrop within the wider landscape. Its prominence and visibility result in a public amenity contribution. The loss of this tree would therefore have a notable and detrimental impact upon the local and wider landscape, and it is considered expedient in the interests of amenity to safeguard the tree with this Tree Preservation Order.
