  1. The proposed signage, by reason of their siting, scale and design, would appear over-dominant, cluttered, insensitive and visually intrusive in the streetscene harming visual amenity, including the character and appearance of the host property, the Conservation Area and the setting of adjacent listed buildings and Buildings of Townscape Merit. As such, the proposed scheme would be contrary to Chapters 14 and 20 of the NPPF, policies D8 and HC1 of the London Plan, policies 28, 29 and 30 of the Local Plan, the Shopfronts SPD and Twickenham Village Planning Guidance as supported by the Twickenham Riverside Conservation Area Statement and Conservation Area Appraisal.
