T1 - Pear - reduce height to previous points 12m in height. Reduce height by 2m from 12m to 10m, reduce lateral spread by 1m from 5m to 4m, cutting back to previous reduction points. A mature Pear standing towards the eastern end of the rear garden of 105b Breakspears Road. The tree has been reduced previously and has since put on regrowth from the earlier cuts. Works will retain the established reduction points to maintain the existing crown shape and form, keeping the tree in proportion to its position in the garden and reducing end-weight on the regrowth extending from the previous cuts. T2 - Pittosporum - reduce height 7m in height. Reduce height by 1m from 7m to 6m. Reduce spread by 1m from 4m to 3m. A Pittosporum standing immediately to the north west of the Pear in the rear garden. The specimen has grown beyond the space available to it and is increasingly shading the garden and the adjoining boundary. A light reduction is proposed to bring the crown back into proportion with its setting and to maintain the tree at a manageable size for the position it occupies.

T1 - Poplar - crown reduce 14m in height. Reduce height by 3m from 14m to 11m. Reduce laterals by 2m from 8m to 6m on all compass points. The taller of two poplars standing close together on the rear boundary of the garden. The garden is bounded on all sides by dwellings, outbuildings and neighbouring gardens, so failure of the upper stem or a major limb would have a target beneath it in most directions. The proposed reduction lowers the height and takes in the lateral spread, reducing the sail area and the leverage on the stem while keeping the tree in proportion to a garden of this size. T2 - Poplar - crown reduce 12m in height. Reduce height by 3m from 12m to 9m. Reduce laterals by 1m from 6m to 5m on all compass points. The second of the two poplars, standing immediately alongside T1 on the rear boundary. The two trees have grown up together and their crowns are in contact, so both are proposed for reduction in the same operation to keep the pair balanced and to avoid leaving one exposed to wind loading it has not previously carried. T3 - Acacia - crown reduce 14m in height. No reduction to height. Reduce laterals by 3m from 8m to 5m on all compass points. A mature Acacia standing between the poplars and the house. The tree has previously been pruned and has responded with long, heavily contorted lateral limbs that now extend well out over the garden and towards the boundary. The works are therefore confined to the laterals, bringing the spread in by 3m to reduce end-weight and leverage on the weaker unions. T4 - Plum - crown reduce and crown lift 6m in height. Reduce height by 1m from 6m to 5m. Reduce laterals by 1m from 5m to 4m on all compass points. Lift the crown to give 3m of clearance over ground level. he works are deliberately light: the tree is retained rather than removed.

T1 - London Plane - crown reduce 9m in height. Reduce height by 3m from 9m to 6m. Reduce laterals by 2m from 6m to 4m on all compass points. A semi-mature London Plane standing in the rear garden of the property. The tree has been managed on a cyclical pruning regime and carries an established framework of previous reduction points, clearly visible throughout the crown. The proposed works return the tree to those existing points and no further, maintaining the shape and form already established and keeping the tree in proportion to a modest garden bounded by dwellings and their gardens on all sides.

FRONT: ONE Purple Plum (T5) Ht 8m FELL, or no objection to alternative to CROWN REDUCE (T5) by approx.2m to ht.6m - please see Informative A below to retain T5.Reason: historic crown reduction, fell to combat subsidence damage to front bay window at site address. Informative A: Tree Officer emailed applicant (Sedgwick International UK) on 21 September 2026 to encourage retention of Prunus (T5) as it is not implicated in the structural issue with the front bay window, ie. no Rosaceae roots found in site investigation soil analysis. Please remove only the implicated magnolia (T3), and wisteria (Leguminosae) growing between the front door and the bay window in current tree works proposed to stabilise the bay window. No objection to crown reduce (T5) by approx.2m to ht.6m. Informative B: many thanks for retaining the frontage hedge for streetscape amenity, wildlife and to reduce increasingly high summer temperatures due to climate change. Informative C: please create habitat log piles with arisings for wildlife and biodiversity.

T1 - Sycamore - crown reduce 14m in height. Reduce height by 6m from 14m to 8m, cutting back to live growth. Reduce laterals by 4m from 8m to 4m back to live growth on all compass points. A mature Sycamore standing to the rear of the property, in very poor structural and physiological condition. The upper crown carries extensive deadwood and dieback and the canopy is sparse and thinning, indicating a marked and continuing loss of vitality. Structurally the upper stems and branches are weak, and a significant quantity of dead and declining wood is being retained over the garden and the adjoining boundaries, where it presents a foreseeable risk of failure onto areas used by the occupants and neighbouring properties. The proposed works take the crown back to live growth throughout, removing the dead and failing material that presents the immediate hazard and reducing the leverage and end-weight carried on the weakened structure. Reduction rather than removal is proposed as the least intrusive option available: it addresses the safety issue while retaining the tree and its amenity value on the site, and gives the remaining live growth the opportunity to respond and, it is hoped, return the tree to a more vigorous condition.

What these statistics cover

These figures describe applications collected by PlanningTrack for London Borough of Lewisham, across all dates currently available. They are a partial dataset, rather than an authority-wide performance measure. The date range does not establish continuous historical coverage.

The approval percentage is approved records divided by approved plus refused records. Pending, withdrawn and unknown outcomes are excluded. No percentage is shown until there is an approved or refused record.
