  1. REASON: The proposed alterations to the front dormers of the mansard extension by reason of the detailed design, increased size, style, formation of an overhang and terrace would represent a visually discordant and incongruous alteration that would unacceptably harm the character and appearance of the host property and the Poets Road Conservation Area. The proposal is therefore contrary to policies D4 and HC1 of the London Plan (2021), policies PLAN1, DH1 and DH2 of Islington’s Strategic and Development Management Policies (2023) and the guidance of the Urban Design Guide (2017) and the Poets Road Conservation Area Management Plan (2025).
