The proposed extension by reason of its inappropriate siting, height, massing, form and detailed design would disrupt the natural rhythm and character of the rear elevation of the terrace and appear as a discordant and incongrous feature from public and private views which would neither preserve or conserve the character of the Newington Conservation Area contrary to policies D3, D4, HC1 of the London Plan 2021, policy PLAN1, DH2, and DH6 of Islington’s SDMP 2023 and the guidance contained within the Urban Design Guide (2017) and CADG (2014).
