Application overview
The restoration and refurbishment of the Sunday School at the Union Chapel. To provide a flexible space for community use and preserve and create a publicly accessible home for the Chapel's fascinating 200-year-old un-catalogued Collection. The proposals include: alterations to previously approved secondary balustrade at gallery level; and access hatch to roof void (Application ref: P2024/1941/FUL & P2024/1942/LBC). Minor layout alteration to previously approved infilling of unusable lightwell to create room (Application ref: P2024/1941/FUL & P2024/1942/LBC). New works proposed to level existing concrete floor slab in entrance lobby. New fire rated wall and door proposed within ground floor store room.

- 3 YEAR CONSENT PERIOD FOR LBC and CAC: The works hereby permitted shall be begun not later than three years from the date of this consent. REASON: To comply with the provisions of Section 18(1)(a) of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990 as amended by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (Chapter 5).
- DRAWING AND DOCUMENT NUMBERS: The development hereby approved shall be carried out in accordance with the following approved plans: Application Form; Design and Access Statement; Heritage Statement; Location Plan; UCP-BFF-00-DR-A-0000 Existing GA Plans (Page 01); UCP-BFF-ZZ-DR-A-0000 Existing GA Plans (Page 02); UCP-BFF-ZZ-DR-A-0000 Existing GA Plans (Page 03); UCP-BFF-ZZ-DR-A-0000 Existing GA Plans; UCP-BFF-ZZ-DR-A-1109 Existing Mezzanine Balustrade Details; UCP-BFF-00-DR-A-0251-PL4-Proposed Ground Floor Plan; UCP-BFF-01-DR-A-0252-PL4 Proposed First Floor Plan; UCP-BFF-R0-DR-A-0253-PL4 Proposed Roof Space Plan; UCP-BFF-ZZ-DR-A-1110-PL2 Proposed Mezzanine Balustrade Detail REASON: To comply with Section 70(1)(a) of the Town and Country Act 1990 as amended and the Reason for Grant and also for the avoidance of doubt and in the interest of proper planning.
- ALL EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL WORKS TO MATCH (COMPLIANCE): All new external and internal works and finishes and works of making good to the retained fabric shall match the existing adjacent work with regard to the methods used and to material, colour, texture and profile. All such works and finishes shall be maintained as such thereafter. REASON: In order to safeguard the special architectural or historic interest of the heritage asset.
- This consent relates solely to listed building matters. Should it become necessary to make alterations to the consented scheme in order to comply with other legislation, such as Building Regulations, a further consent may be required. Such a consent should be sought and obtained prior to the relevant works being undertaken.
