  14. Application Valid - Awaiting DecisionT/26/102187

1no. Silver Birch (T1) - Carry out a crown reduction of 2-3m back to good growth points. 1no. Weeping Willow (T2) - Carry out a crown reduction of 2-3m back to good growth points. 1no. Ash (T3) - Fell (sectional dismantlement) and clear, cutting the remaining stump as low as possible and cross hatch. Self seeded tree low amenity value, growing very close to a telecom post. 1no. Weeping Willow (T4) - Carry out a crown reduction of 3-4m back to good growth points to clear the footpath and highway. 1no. Holly (T5) - Fell (sectional dismantlement) and clear, cutting the remaining stump as low as possible and cross hatching. 1no. Plum (T6) - Fell (sectional dismantlement) and clear, cutting the remaining stump as low as possible and cross hatching. 1no. Purple leaf Cherry plum tree (T7) - Carry out a crown reduction of 3-4m back to previous pruning points. 2no. Lawson Cypress (T8 & T9) - Fell (sectional dismantlement) and clear, cutting the remaining stump as low as possible and cross hatching. No work carried on the trees for many years, have been left to grow too large, the work proposed is interests of good arboricultural management to maintain the trees' health and in the interest of good tree husbandry and visual amenities in the area. (T5 & T6) have grown into each other. Not good specimens with low amenity value. Are being overtaken by brambles, replacement trees would be planted with better spacing. (T8 & T9) Cypress trees do not regenerate from old wood, it is nearly impossible to scale these specimens back to a safe size through pruning without killing the trees or leaving them permanently disfigured. Complete removal is required to eliminate the heavy "wind-sail" hazard they pose to public pathways and building during severe weather. To halt their aggressive root system from undermining nearby foundations. Replacement trees of a more suitable species would be planted.

3no. Oak (T1, T2 & T3) - Prune branches extending over gardens by approx. 2m. Prune branches extending towards the house to maintain approx. 2m clearance from building. 2no. Oak (T4 & T5) - Prune branches extending towards the building to maintain approx. 2m clearance. 2no. Oak (T6 & T7) - Prune branches extending over driveway by approx. 2m. All pruning will be undertaken selectively and sympathetically, retaining the natural form and structure of the trees. No branch greater than approx. 40mm in diameter will be removed unless specifically required for the removal of major deadwood or otherwise agreed with the Local Planning Authority. The proposed works are intended to provide general management of the protected oak trees, reduce encroachment over gardens and driveways, reduce the amount of debris falling onto vehicles, maintain appropriate building clearances, and provide reasonable ongoing management of the trees. Reduce the accumulation of deadwood and associated debris.

    28 GUILDFORD DRIVE, CHANDLER'S FORD, EASTLEIGH, SO53 3PT

    Received 29 Sept 2026
  21. Application Valid - Awaiting DecisionT/26/102207

1no. Group of Unspecified Species (G1) - Existing overhang is relatively minor, extending approx. 2–3m over the adjoining gardens at its greatest extent. The proposed works would be limited to growth extending beyond the respective property boundaries and would not involve unnecessary removal of branches or any significant reduction in the overall tree canopy. Permission is requested to allow residents to maintain the existing overhang from the trees at Hogsty Corner back to their respective property boundary fences. Consent is requested for a period of 7 years to allow this work to be carried out as part of routine maintenance when required, without the need for a new application each time. Pruning Specification * Pruning will be limited to branches and growth extending beyond the respective property boundary. * The pruning line will generally follow the existing boundary fence. * Branches will be pruned back to suitable growth points or branch unions, rather than simply cut back to the boundary. * No topping, pollarding or general crown reduction will be undertaken. * The overall form, health and structural integrity of the trees will be retained. * Where practical, works will be carried out in accordance with good arboricultural practice and with regard to the condition and growth characteristics of the individual trees. The proposed approach would: * Reduce the risk of branch failure over the gardens. *Allow the trees to be managed regularly and proactively, rather than allowing the overhang to become more extensive before work is undertaken. * Reduce the likelihood of more significant pruning being required in the future. * Keep growth from encroaching further over gardens while retaining the trees and their amenity and biodiversity value. * Give residents a clear and consistent approach to managing the overhang. * Avoid the need for repeated applications for what would otherwise be routine and proportionate maintenance. * Maintain a consistent pruning line and help avoid excessive pruning. A seven-year period is considered appropriate as the trees and their relationship with the adjoining boundaries are unlikely to change significantly over this period. It should provide a consistent approach to managing the overhang while still allowing the trees and the effectiveness of the pruning regime to be reviewed before any further long-term consent is considered.

    57-69 Goodlands Vale, Hedge End

    Received 29 Sept 2026
  22. Application Valid - Awaiting DecisionT/26/102212

2no. Oak (T1 & T2) - Crown reduce, reducing height and spread by up to 4m in places to manage large trees in confined space. Significant amount of deadwood present within crown and trees appear visible stressed over the past couple of years due to lack of rain. Looking to reduce trees to alleviate weight on large branches and to reduce the amount of energy required to keep good vigor.

What these statistics cover

These figures describe applications collected by PlanningTrack for Eastleigh Borough Council, across all dates currently available. They are a partial dataset, rather than an authority-wide performance measure. The date range does not establish continuous historical coverage.

The approval percentage is approved records divided by approved plus refused records. Pending, withdrawn and unknown outcomes are excluded. No percentage is shown until there is an approved or refused record.
