1no. Oak (T1) - Reduce its height by 4m - 5m by removing the uppermost small branches. The main body of the tree would be untouched. We do not want to remove the whole tree, only the uppermost branches to make it safe. Tree overhangs footpath & road. Roots are growing into the footpath & look possibly unstable.

Decision & conditions

Refuse Tree Consent For
T_25_99988 PL_Final Decision
Planning conditions
  1. REFUSE: 1no. Oak (T1) - Reduce its height by 4m - 5m by removing the uppermost small branches.
  2. Reason: The proposed reduction of height by 4-5m on 1no. Oak (T1) is considered unjustified and will be of detriment to the health and appearance of the tree. The works would thus result in an adverse impact upon the visual amenity, ecology and wildlife and screening of the surrounding area. The proposed reduction of 4-5m is deemed excessive in the absence of any arboricultural evidence to support it. These works will affect the tree’s public amenity. Advised to the applicants on site that if they have any concerns regarding the tree’s stability or health, they should have the tree assessed by a professional arborist and provide a report or other written conclusion.
