REFUSE PERMISSION: 1no. Group 6 x Sessile Oak (G1) - Reduce lateral branches on North East aspect by up to 3m REASON FOR REFUSAL: The reason for the application has been stated to address overhanging of a road and parking area. The indiscriminate cutting back by 3m of all trees along this edge is excessive in relation to the reason put forward to support the application. It threatens to remove a substantial proportion of the crowns of these trees, potentially to the point that only stubs remain. This will adversely impact on both public, visual amenity and tree health. Lesser works have been permitted (see below).
CONSENT TO: 1no. Group 6 x Sessile oak (G1) – Crownlift to 5m over access road and reduce north-east aspect by up to 1.5m.

REASON: To ensure works are carried out in accordance with good arboricultural practice.
Notes to Applicant: All works hereby consented should be carried out by a suitably qualified and insured tree surgeon. A copy of the decision notice should be given to the Tree Surgeon. Deadwood may be removed at any time without an application. Please be advised that the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 as amended, the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 and the Conservation (Natural Habitats) Regulations 1994 protect ALL wild birds, their nests (whether in use or being built) and eggs and other wild animals including bats and their roosts in or adjacent to trees. The granting of consent does not give the applicant or their agent a legal right to enter land without the owner’s permission.
