CONSENT TO: 1no. Pine (twin stemmed) - Dismantle & remove to ground level
One (1) replacement tree is required to be planted to replace the pine. The replacement tree shall be either Dutch elm disease-resistant elm (e.g. Ulmus 'New Horizon'), field maple (Acer campestre), sweet gum (Liquidambar styraciflua) or other species to be first agreed in writing by the Council. It shall be supplied in accordance with BS3936-1:1992 as a minimum of a Selected Standard (10-12cm girth measured 1m from ground and 300-350cm height from ground). The replacement tree shall be planted within 5 metres of the pine. It shall be planted in the first planting season (October-February inclusive) immediately following the removal of the pine. Planting practice shall adhere to BS8545:2014. Reason: To conserve the character of the locality. Note to Applicant: The replacement tree will need to be regularly watered through at least the first two growing seasons. The tree should be watered with 20-30L of water (grey water is fine for this) twice a week commencing early spring. The use of a circle of 1m and 80-100mm depth of hardwood-based woodchip mulch spread around the tree (whilst be kept out of direct contact with the stem) can assist with water conservation as well as reducing competition with weeds.
Notes to applicant: All works hereby consented should be carried out by a suitably qualified and insured tree surgeon. A copy of the decision notice should be given to the Tree Surgeon. Please be advised that the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 as amended, the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 and the Conservation (Natural Habitats) Regulations 1994 protect ALL wild birds, their nests (whether in use or being built) and eggs and other wild animals including bats and their roosts in or adjacent to trees. The granting of consent does not give the applicant or their agent a legal right to enter land without the owner’s permission. Advice regarding overhead utilities should be sought with the relevant service provider prior to commencing works. Please follow current recommended Bio-security measures - Further advice can be found at https://www.trees.org.uk/News-Blog/News/Biosecurity-in-Arboriculture-and-Urban-Forestry-Po
