REFUSE: 1no. Alder (T1) - Reduce entire canopy by 2-3m back to suitable growth points behind where they have been pruned previously. 1no. Alder (T2) - Reduce entire canopy by 2-3m back to suitable growth points behind where they have been pruned previously Reason for refusal: Reduction beyond the points where the trees had previously been reduced to would be harmful to the visual appearance and health of the trees. It would shorten the life expectancy of both and therefore adversely impact on public, visual amenity. The size of the trees does not seem disproportionate to the size of the space they are growing in and is comparable to others on the same road. More extensive crown reduction than previously permitted is not necessary in terms of footpath and highway clearance.
