REFUSE CONSENT: 1no. Oak (T1) - Crown reduction by 2-3m, crown clean. Reason for refusal: 1. Reduction of the entire crown has not been sufficiently justified. The tree has not been subject to this work before so it cannot be considered to be ‘regular maintenance’. The proposed work will be detrimental to the visual appearance and health of the tree. In the absence of any arboricultural reason to reduce the whole tree, this aspect of the proposal has been refused. Lesser works have been consented (see below). 2. There is no definition of crown cleaning with BS3998:2010. As such, the term is ambiguous and open to interpretation. An alternative specification has been consented (see below).
CONSENT TO: 1no. Oak (T1) – Crownlift to clear house/garage by 2m. Reduce back over house/garage back to previous reduction points. Crown thin by no more than 10%, favouring the removal of dead, damaged and diseased branches.
The tree works hereby consented shall be completed within 2 years of the date of this permission and shall be carried out in accordance with the approved details and to British Standard for Tree Work BS3998:2010
Notes to applicant: All works hereby consented should be carried out by a suitably qualified and insured tree surgeon. A copy of the decision notice should be given to the Tree Surgeon. Deadwood may be removed at any time without an application. Please be advised that the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 as amended, the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 and the Conservation (Natural Habitats) Regulations 1994 protect ALL wild birds, their nests (whether in use or being built) and eggs and other wild animals including bats and their roosts in or adjacent to trees. The granting of consent does not give the applicant or their agent a legal right to enter land without the owner’s permission. Note to applicant: Please follow current recommended Bio-security measures - Further advice can be found at https://www.trees.org.uk/News-Blog/News/Biosecurity-in-Arboriculture-and-Urban-Forestry-Po
