Council planning record

1no. Oak (T1, originates from land behind rear boundary) - Crown reduction by up to 3.5 - 4m in height & prune back laterals overhanging the garden by up to 3m. No cut to exceed 100mm. A number of branches have fallen into garden over time (some quite significant in size) this represents a significant risk to people using the garden. The branches that fall are often dead, suggesting the health of the tree may be in question in parts.

Decision & conditions

Planning conditions
  1. REFUSE: 1no. Oak (T1, originates from land behind rear boundary) - Crown reduction by up to 3.5 - 4m in height Reason: The proposed reduction in height has not been adequately justified within the application. There are no arboricultural reasons to carry out this work. Reducing the height of the tree will deteriorate the wooded boundary between Mallett Close and the land to the south.
  2. CONSENT TO: 1no. Oak (T1, originates from land behind rear boundary) - Prune back laterals overhanging the garden by up to 3m. No cut to exceed 100mm.
  3. The tree works hereby consented shall be completed within 2 years of the date of this permission and shall be carried out in accordance with the approved details and to British Standard for Tree Work BS3998:2010
  4. Informatives: The granting of consent does not permit access onto neighbouring land. Eastleigh Borough Council will not permit access to its land for the purpose of implementing any works specified within this application. All works hereby consented should be carried out by a suitably qualified and insured tree surgeon. A copy of the decision notice should be given to the Tree Surgeon. Please be advised that the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 as amended, the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 and the Conservation (Natural Habitats) Regulations 1994 protect ALL wild birds, their nests (whether in use or being built) and eggs and other wild animals including bats and their roosts in or adjacent to trees. Note to applicant: Please follow current recommended Bio-security measures - Further advice can be found at https://www.trees.org.uk/News-Blog/News/Biosecurity-in-Arboriculture-and-Urban-Forestry-Po
