REFUSE: 2 no. Birch (T1/T2, adjacent to dwelling front drive). Crown lift to 5m from ground level by the removal 30mm branch work. 1 no. Oak (T4, rear garden NE corner)- Crown lift to 6m over road. Reduce selective Eastern and Southern lateral branch work by a maximum of 2m and live pruning wounds of 50mm from branch tips to rebalance crown and to allow other neighbouring plants to thrive.
Reason: The proposed work: 2 no. Birch (T1/T2, adjacent to dwelling front drive) crown lift to 5m from ground level by the removal 30mm branch work; 1 no. Oak (T4, rear garden NE corner) crown lift to 6m over road and reduce selective Eastern and Southern lateral branch work by a maximum of 2m, is considered unjustified and will be of detriment to the health and appearance of the trees. The works would thus result in an adverse impact upon the visual amenity, ecology and wildlife and screening of the surrounding area.
CONSENT TO: 2 no. Birch (T1/T2, adjacent to dwelling front drive) - Reduce crown to previous reduction points. Maximum pruning wounds not to exceed 75mm. 1 no. Oak (T3, front drive adjacent to road)- Crown lift to 5m over road and 4m over drive. 1 no. Oak (T4, rear garden NE corner)- Crown lift to 5m over road with no cut to be above 75mm in diameter (i.e. the established laterals that grown from just above the wall must remain to avoid very large wounds) Reduce selective western (cited as eastern and southern) lateral branch work by a maximum of 2m with a maximum cut size back to previous pruning points over the garden.
The tree works hereby consented shall be completed within 2 years of the date of this permission and shall be carried out in accordance with the approved details and to British Standard for Tree Work BS3998:2010
Note to Applicant: It is considered that, subject to compliance with the conditions attached to this permission, the consented tree works are acceptable because they will not materially harm the character of the area, the amenity of neighbours or highway safety, and are in accordance with the policies and proposals of the development plan and after due regard to all other relevant material considerations the local planning authority is of the opinion that permission should be granted. Note to applicant: All works hereby consented should be carried out by a suitably qualified and insured tree surgeon. A copy of the decision notice should be given to the Tree Surgeon. Note to applicant: Deadwood may be removed at any time without an application. Note to applicant: The granting of consent does not give the applicant or their agent a legal right to enter land without the owner’s permission. Note to applicant: Advice regarding overhead utilities should be sought with the relevant service provider prior to commencing works. Note to applicant: Please follow current recommended Bio-security measures - Further advice can be found at https://www.trees.org.uk/News-Blog/News/Biosecurity-in-Arboriculture-and-Urban-Forestry-Po Note to applicant: Deadwood within trees provides a rich and important habitat; it can be a natural part of the trees life cycle.
