Decision & conditions

Prior Approval Refused
PN_25_99625 PL_Final Decision PN_25_99625 Decision notice informative leaflet - REF REM NEW
Planning conditions
  1. The proposed telecommunications mast and associated equipment, owing to its excessive height, scale and width, would introduce an unduly prominent and visually obtrusive feature to the locality, to the detriment of the character and appearance of the area. The development would therefore be contrary to Policies DM1 and DM9 of the Eastleigh Borough Local Plan 2016-2036 and Paragraph 135 of the National Planning Policy Framework.
  2. The application fails to provide sufficient evidence to demonstrate that other more suitable and less harmful alternative sites for the development do not exist, and that the possibility of erecting the proposed telecommunications equipment on existing buildings, masts or other structures has been suitably explored. The development is therefore contrary to Policy DM9 of the Eastleigh Borough Local Plan 2016-2036 and Paragraph 122 of the National Planning Policy Framework.
  3. Note to Applicant: The application was refused following the assessment of the following plans: 100 A, 200 A, 201 A, 300 A, 301 A. In accordance with paragraph 39 of the National Planning Policy Framework Eastleigh Borough Council takes a positive approach to the handling of development proposals so as to achieve, whenever possible, a positive outcome and to ensure all proposals are dealt with in a timely manner.
