- Under the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015, Schedule 2, Part 1, Class A, a householder planning application is required. This is because the room behind the garage, marked as studio on your existing floor plans, did not form part of the original dwellinghouse. Therefore the depth of the proposed extension should be measured from the rear wall of the garage, giving a depth of approximately 7.5 metres.
