Planning conditions
  1. The proposed double carport, due to its prominent position, lack of surrounding screening, and bulky design, would appear out of place within the street scene, resulting in a detrimental impact on the character of the area. The proposal is therefore contrary to Policy DM1 of the Eastleigh Borough Local Plan (2016-2036), Quality Places SPD (2011), and the contents of the National Planning Policy Framework (2024).
  2. Note to Applicant: The application was refused following the assessment of the following plans: 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, and 06. In accordance with paragraph 39 of the National Planning Policy Framework (December 2024), Eastleigh Borough Council takes a positive approach to the handling of development proposals so as to achieve, whenever possible, a positive outcome and to ensure all proposals are dealt with in a timely manner.
