The materials to be used in the construction of the external surfaces of the development hereby permitted shall match in type, colour and texture those used on the existing building. Reason: To ensure a satisfactory visual relationship between the new development and the existing.
Note to Applicant: In accordance with paragraph 38 of the National Planning Policy Framework (December 2023), Eastleigh Borough Council takes a positive approach to the handling of development proposals so as to achieve, whenever possible, a positive outcome and to ensure all proposals are dealt with in a timely manner.
Note to applicant: In the unlikely event of any bats being found during demolition or construction, all work must stop immediately, and Natural England must be called. Additional information is available on the Bat Conservation Trust website at https://www.bats.org.uk/advice/imworking-on-a-building-with-bats/ive-found-a-bat-during-works
In order to minimise the development's impact upon species and their habitats the following is recommended: - All building materials to be stored on hard standing or on pallets, as far as possible from hedgerows, scrub or potential habitat. - Any excavations must be covered at night or be fitted with a small animal escape ramp, and no fires can be lit on site. - Waste must be stored in a skip and not be allowed to accumulate in piles which could be used by wildlife. - Any animals found on site should not be handled but be allowed to move away to a place of safety on their own.
Note to Applicant: It is recommended that biodiversity enhancements are installed on the site. This may include bat and swift nest bricks/boxes. Swift boxes can be used by other species if swifts are not using them. Bee bricks, log and brushwood piles and planting native species which produce fruit and seeds for pollinators are also recommended.
