- The proposed roof alterations, comprising the raising of the ridge, hip-to-gable enlargement, and the addition of a rear dormer, would result in discordant and incongruous additions with an uncharacteristically top-heavy appearance, at odds with the character of the wider surrounding streetscene. The proposals are therefore contrary to Policy DM1 of the Eastleigh Borough Local Plan (2016-2036), and the contents of the National Planning Policy Framework (2023).
- Note to Applicant: The application was refused following the assessment of the following plans: 22042_104_A, 22042_100_A, 22042_205, 22042_201, 22042_203, 22042_202, 22042_206 and 22042_204. In accordance with paragraph 38 of the National Planning Policy Framework (September 2023), Eastleigh Borough Council takes a positive approach to the handling of development proposals so as to achieve, whenever possible, a positive outcome and to ensure all proposals are dealt with in a timely manner.
