- The change in roof formation would materially change the overall appearance of the host dwelling and would be inconsistent and out of keeping with the roof design and pitch of the adjacent dwelling that would be at odds with, and detract from, the appearance of the street scene. The proposal is therefore contrary to Policy DM1 of the Eastleigh Borough Local Plan (2016-2036), Quality Places SPD (2011), Character Area Appraisal for Hedge End, West End and Botley (2008), and the contents of the National Planning Policy Framework (2021).
- Note to Applicant: The application was refused following the assessment of the following plans: 101 Rev.A, 001 and Loc 001. In accordance with paragraph 38 of the National Planning Policy Framework (February 2019), Eastleigh Borough Council takes a positive approach to the handling of development proposals so as to achieve, whenever possible, a positive outcome and to ensure all proposals are dealt with in a timely manner.
