Planning conditions
  1. The application seeks formal discharge of planning condition 3 (archaeological WSI report) associated with planning approval CH/25/0189 for the demolition of the Forum Shopping Centre. The details supplied to satisfy the condition include a formal Written Scheme of Investigation document which sets out the intended approach to excavation and sampling at the site, contingencies, the proposed recording strategy and post excavation recording and archiving. The Council has consulted upon the submitted information with the County Archaeologist who confirms they are happy to recommend that Condition 3A of CH/25/0189 can be satisfactorily discharged, with the reminder that the remaining elements of Condition 3, which relate to undertaking the fieldwork and appropriate reporting, archiving, and where appropriate, publication, are carried out in line with the approved WSI. Accordingly the Council is able to partially discharge the requirements of Condition 3 in so far as undertaking the fieldwork and archiving/publication where required, remain subject to compliance in line with the condition wording.
