Council planning record

T1. Norway Maple - Its central crown has historically died with extensive presence of fungal decay including Dryads Saddle noted. It is now proposed to pollard the tree to remove its dominant growing points, that pose a significant structural leverage to its existing weakened side limbs. The remaining weak growth and dieback will be pollarded back to optimal growing points to retain a balanced form to the tree. The objective of the work is to sustain the vigor of the tree, without allowing its regrowth to cause it to collapse under it's own weight. Thetefore we propose that routinely pollarding the tree on a five year frequency will be in the best interest of the trees sustainability.
