The works are to bring the building back into domestic use in a more modern form while protecting the listed heritage. This will mean removing concrete floors and inserting limecrete floors, insulating the walls with breathable insulation and lime plasters. Removing the stone tile roof from the modern lean to on the west elevation as the pitch is to shallow and replacing with a tin roof. The detached tin shed to the north will be enlarged to take biomass, which will be blended to supply underfloor heating. This in turn will allow other green options in the future. Solar thermal and photovotalic will be added in the field adjacent to the building at ground level. some original features will be reconfigured to the historic form such as the front door to the tallet.
