Council planning record

The access to the woodland is has fallen into disrepair and is no longer suitable for the forestry vehicles required to enable timber harvesting. The existing track from the road to the woodland entrance is of poor quality and has become overgrown, and therefore now needs to be maintained and in some places upgraded. It is proposed that inert crushed roadstone will be added to the track where necessary to ensure an even surface of up to 5m width (the existing formation width) to allow vehicles to travel to and from the woodland. The track from the road to the woodland is not owned by the woodland owner but they do have a legal right of access and a legal right to upgrade it for forestry purposes. A copy of deeds is supplied as an additional document.Where the woodland meets the track the existing turning circle and loading bay will be used (shown on the site plan), this will be resurfaced with crushed stone as required. The loading bay is located between the two existing parcels of woodland. Within the woodland the tracks may just require scraping back and minor repairs. Where the existing track within the woodland is not suitable once scraped back then this will need stone adding to consolidate it. There will be a section of new track needed to link up two existing sections within the wood. This is located in the north west of the wood and will be required to allow machinery to travel safely in the woodland due to the steep slope.
