Council planning record

Discharge conditon 3 in relation to application 20/19334/LBC - Having now exposed the fireplace we will be seeking to retain the original brick lintel. We propose to the clean the brick and preserve its rustic charm. The stone within the chamber is generally in poor condition and has been removed at some point in the central area of the chamber and been replaced with modern cement material. We propose to lime render the rear of the chamber. The sides of the chamber we propose to use brick to improve the structural integrity of the chamber as some of the original stones have been removed and modern bricks inserted in a poor manner. We propose to fit a Fireline FXW wood burning stove Defra 2022 approved. We propose to fit a slate hearth. The external surrounding stone fireplace will be retained however a lime render will be applied to replace the orginal lime render that was removed as part of the excavation process. We feel these proposals align and meet the requirements/comments made by the Heritage Officer
