Council planning record

We have been contacted by Monmouthshire County Council to cut back 5 Holm Oaks adjacent to the highway which are obstructing a street light and the footpath. The person dealing with this matter is Martyn Evans, 01633 644769, and their reference number is 2017-03-HN36.We subsequently contacted Kittie Powell at Brecon Beacons National Park who has confirmed there is a TPO (DC/018/3) covering several trees at our property. We instructed a tree surgeon to visit and he has told us that the 5 Holm Oak (G17) have previously been pollarded and he suggested that we re-pollard them to the same height that they had previously been trimmed. He has also suggested that the tree closest to our entrance been completely removed as it has a large fungal growth on the trunk indicating that the tree is suffering from a fungal disease or internal decay.
