  1. Decision Made21/00283/TP

Description: Oak (T1) - Stage 2 retrenchment prune, this should be carried out in early summer 2022, Stages 3 & 4 will follow cyclically. The timing of the stages will depend on how the tree responds to Stage 2. It is imperative the crown it not lifted or thinned and where possible leave the deadwood in situ (safety first). Note - retrenchment pruning is not the same as a general crown reduction, it is highly specialised and the contractor should be trained in this field.

    Received 10 Jan 2022
  13. Decision Made22/00011/TC

Description: Conifer 1 - to fell - out of keeping with local species, too close to rear extension of house, desire is to fell and replace with a flowering and/or fruiting deciduous tree that can still support the climbing rose, but offer enhanced foraging and habitat opportunities for wildlife. Insurers also flagged it as unsuitably close to property. Conifers 2,3,4 - Felling of group will allow for better form of walnut in adjacent garden, the walnut being more in keeping with the area. Evidence of structural limitations in all three due to conflicts with stone features and overly close shed + fence. Historic management of trees has created multi stem form which is imbalanced and has examples of bark inclusion at unions. Crown stress indicating lack of vitality caused by compaction on driveway. Conifer 5 - to fell - out of keeping with area, shading adjacent walnut, mixed broadleaf hedge and neighbour's field maple. Examples of bark inclusion at tight unions. Felling would allow for more light to adjacent trees hedging. All trees are unsustainable in their current position and will, in the opinion of the arborist consulted, require costly cyclical management to maintain trees safely. This cost would be better spent on replanting more appropriate species of trees in more appropriate locations in the property, such as along the eastern and southern border.
