Application overview
Work required to pollard large horse chestnut tree (marked at T1 on Doc 1 site plan) back to previous pruning points (see Doc 2 - photo 1 for position of proposed pruning points) to reduce the weight and density of the tree. The tree has grown substantially since it was last reduced in height and is very close to our property. The tree has been weakened by some basal and stem decay (see Doc 3 - photo 2), and we have been advised by a tree surgeon that it would be advisable on safety grounds and for the health of the tree to have the proposed work carried out.
