T1 - veteran beech. It is located adjacent to the northern boundary of the meadow. There are the fruiting bodies of Kretzschmaria deusta amongst the buttress roots on the eastern side of the tree. The fungus causes a soft rot in which the strength of the wood is greatly reduced. The tree is to be fenced off at a distance equivalent to a multiple of 1.5 the height of the tree. Fence will be a decorative picket fence. T2 - sycamore. Fell to leave as a biodiversity feature of around 5/6 metres in height. Final cut to be coronet cut, slots to be cut into stem and a bat box fixed to enhance biodiversity. Extensive buttress decay. The remaining wood supporting the trees is particularly thin. The tree is sheltered by similar aged specimens, but nonetheless is considered a hazard and liable to collapse onto allocated seating area.
