Council planning record

1. Removal of a large fastigiate Yew tree which is growing too close to the residential property known as Beryl West. 2. Cherry - 25% reduction, re-shaping and all internal cross growth branches removed to promote healthy future growth.(0.5m off top and sides). The tree has a number of very long spindly branches that really do stick out, way beyond what should be its natural parameter for it age and I suspect, taking these into account the reduction/pruning of these would mean approximately and in places up to 1m to 1.3m off either side. Presently the tree is between 9 to 10m in diameter at its widest. Trees are never completely circular as you know, the south facing side is often more developed. If we therefore said, keeping it in proportion and of course taking the experience of the tree surgeon when the work is being done into account, height reduction could be up to 1m to 1.5m as well. Key will be to take off only what will improve the light the core and achieving the correct proportions overall within its setting in the Churchyard.
