Council planning record

Various A row of trees and large shrubs in our suburban back garden has reached a height and girth which is out of scale, creates excessive shade, and intrudes over much into our neighbour's garden. We want to retain all of them, for privacy and for their aesthetic appeal, but to reduce their scale so that they are in proportion to their setting. This will involve reducing their height by 1/1 1/2 m and reducing the girth of some of them by 1/2m. The trees in question are two pear trees, a bay tree and a narrow holly tree. There are, in addition, an apple tree and a prunus on the other side of the garden which we have been advised by a tree surgeon, Dave Cottrell, need reducing in weight to limit the risk of boughs falling (one of them has already shed a substantial branch and the other seems to be be reaching the end of its life).
