Council planning record

T1 - Yew T2 - Sycamore T3 - Sycamore seedling The elderly Yew tree in the centre of the garden now needs a repeat trim to keep the crown of the tree at a reasonable size. This was last done in 2007. It will be good for the tree and good for the garden as it will reduce the shading of the flower beds beneath it. The photo shows the size of the problem. You will notice also that the crown of the Yew is being interfered with by a limb of the Fir tree behind. This branch needs to be trimmed but not removed. I also have a mature Sycamore tree in the garden which we have prevously trimmed to maintain the crown at a manageable size. You will know that Sycamore has a habit of broadcasting its seed far and wide with a very successful germination rate. One such seedling has grown at great speed, without us really noticing, and now threatens the stability of the front garden wall of the property. The photograph below shows the overall size of this rogue tree and its close proximity to the 6gt wall which adjoins the pavement outside the garden. This "weed" tree not only threatens the wall itself but also overhead power lines. It is proposed that this tree be removed. The maintenance proposed above is intended to balance the desire to retain a healthy and mixed population of trees, with the practical realities of nurturing large trees in a relatively confined space. I believe the proposals are a pragmatic approach to this problem and are presented within the spirit of the intent of the Conservation Area. I would be pleased to receive your authority to carry out the proposed work. Remarks: Spec:
