  9. Decision MadeP23/S0728/TPO

16 Sycamore (8 felled), 3 Cherry, 1 Katsura, 4 Hornbeam, 1 Oak (Evergreen). These trees are mainly self seeded and are growing adjacent to and bearing onto the wall bounding Pack and Prime Lane. Building Control have instructed the owner to make the wall safe as it is now leaning at an unstable angle and is currently supported with scaffolding. The ground level behind the wall has been raised since the wall was constructed and is bearing against the wall which is structurally not a retaining wall. A sketch showing the levels of the ground inside the wall is attached. The proposed works will include setting up a storage enclosure inside the land adjacent to Parkside with a single track across the land to the site of the trees. Removing the trees to form a space 3m back from the wall, excavating to form a level workspace down at the top of foundation level 1200mm wide with the ground then sloped up at an angle of about 30 degrees to the existing level. The excavated material will be loaded onto lorries which would sand only for the loading time in Pack and Prime Lane. This will enable the work of demolishing the damaged wall and rebuilding it from inside the site rather than having to use traffic management in Pack and Prime Lane. It is proposed to erect Heras fencing about 600mm away from the new wall position to enable a bricklayer to finish the pointing on the outer face of the wall which will be built from inside the Parkside land. This also will not cause any disruption to the users of Pack and Prime Lane. There is a report on the condition of the wall together with the engineer's report both of which are attached together with photographs showing the wall and the trees.

What these statistics cover

These figures describe applications collected by PlanningTrack for South Oxfordshire District Council, across all dates currently available. They are a partial dataset, rather than an authority-wide performance measure. The date range does not establish continuous historical coverage.

The approval percentage is approved records divided by approved plus refused records. Pending, withdrawn and unknown outcomes are excluded. No percentage is shown until there is an approved or refused record.
