Fr J Osman the resident of St Birinus Church became concerned over the tree. Visual inspecting gives us several hazards over the tree, the top part of the crown is dead, and it is spreading downwards. There has been a large fungal bracket on the trees buttresses at the base of the tree. This combined with Horse Chestnuts weak characteristics makes me feel that this poses a considerable hazard. The tree is unfortunately growing along the edge of the property, over hanging the road and the verge which has usually got several parked cars under it. The public could also potentially be at risk while visiting the church as there is a path under which would be used to gain access. Therefore, I have concluded the safest course of action would be the removal of the tree. It is in public place and risk of limb failure is too high when considering the deadwood in the crown and the fungal bracket on the base.No obj CA works0application · Linked by the council
