T1 is a mature willow pollard near the power lines on Old Bridge Meadow. The proposal is to re-pollard the tree to prevent interference with the overhead lines (back to previous pollard points). T2 is a mature maiden willow tree on Old Bridge Meadow. The proposal is to crown lift (by 3-4m) the low branches on the willow beside the path restriction to improve access for people using the informal permissive path beside the Thame T3 is a mature willow pollard beside and upstream of the bridge onto the Hurst Water Meadows on the north bank field side. The proposal is to re-pollard the tree to maintain access across the bridge and to the bank beside the bridge (back to previous pollard points). T4 is a semi-mature willow pollard beside and upstream of the bridge onto the Hurst Water Meadows on the south bank side. The proposal is to re-pollard the tree to maintain access across the bridge and to the bank beside the bridge (back to previous pollard points). T5 is a mature willow pollard beside and downstream of the bridge onto the Hurst Water Meadows on the south bank side. The proposal is to re-pollard the tree to maintain access across the bridge and to the bank beside the bridge (back to previous pollard points). T6 is a multi-stem willow tree beside the east-west ditch on the Hurst Water Meadows. The proposal is to crown lift (by 3-4m) the tree by removal / reduction of the lowest branches to provide access to the ditch and area around the base of the tree. T7 is a partially collapsed willow tree midway along the east-west ditch that runs along the northern side of the Hurst Water Meadows. The proposal is to reduce / cut back the low lateral branches that have started to layer to the stem or old pollard points to increase light levels and facilitate management of coarse vegetation and provide access to this area of the ditch (reduce by 2-3m). G8 is a group of 3 multi-stem / previously pollarded willow trees beside the scrape and ditch midway along the northern side of the Hurst Water Meadows. The proposal is to pollard / re-pollard these 3 trees to allow more light to this section of the ditch and scrape and to make access and on-going management of this area easier (back to previous pollard points). T9 is an over mature ash tree within the hedgerow that divides the Hurst Water Meadow from north to south. The tree is showing signs of extensive dieback caused by Hymenoscyphus fraxineus, and given the high public presence and the risk to people using the Hurst Water Meadow the proposal is to heavily reduce the crown to an eco-pollard, retaining the lower trunk and some lower crown structure. (Eco pollard to approximately 10-12m) see photo. T10 is a multi-stem willow tree near the area of hazel coppice at the western end of the Hurst Water Meadows. The low branches of the tree are starting to layer and the proposal is to reduce back to stem or existing pollard points the low lateral branches to facilitate management of the coarse vegetation around the base of the tree and to provide access to the area around the base of the tree (reduce by 2-3m).
