Council planning record

I wish to carry out work on one living tree (removal) and one dead tree stump (cut down). The living tree is very close to the house, marked by the grey horizontal arrow. The dead tree is marked by the vertical arrow further away from the house. The main reason for wanting to remove the living tree (including grinding the stump) is that its roots are damaging our drive, as photograph A shows. The relationship between this damage and the tree is shown in photo B. David Cottrell, the tree surgeon who will do the work, agreed that this tree was to blame for the damage to the drive. As Photo B and Photo C shows, this tree is just too close to the house, and it shuts out light to the house living room, and also could cause damage to the roof. I do not want to replace this tree with another. The garden of around a quarter of an acre has already around 40 small or large trees in it. At the moment I don't see any obvious gaps for a tree to go. The second tree is the stump shown in photo D. It was cut down by the previous owners under permission granted in a letter from Adrian Duffield to Mrs Thomson dated 15 March 2015 Ref: CA6700. The branches are rotting, and one has already fallen off as the photo shows. I'm concerned others will in due course.
