Application overview
FIVE DAY NOTICE Removal of an early mature Horse Chestnut tree growing on the front boundary of property overhanging the public highway. The tree is in a condition of terminal decline as a result of extensive colonisation of the disease, Bleeding Canker of Horse Chestnut (Psuedomonas syrigae pathovar aesculi). You will see from the attached image that the stem closest to the highway has extensive dieback and associated decay and that one of the lower lateral limbs overhanging the highway has already been shed, with another completely dead limb currently attached just above the wound. The structural integrity of the tree appears excessively compromised, creating a potential hazard to the users of the highway. As such we have recommended the tree's urgent removal and have instructed contractors accordingly.
