Council planning record

In 2015 we removed 9 diseased and dangerous old Beech trees adjacent to our house close to the public footpath. In the resulting clearing we replanted 13 young trees of mixed species eg. Hazel, Spindle, Willow, Rowan, Crab Apple and Yew. All are now established and growing well. In one corner of the clearing 6 small Silver Birch in close proximity to each other have grown rapidly since 2015 to varying heights of 5m to 10m but are very slender with mid-diameters of 8cm to 10cm. They are crowded together and dominate close to some of our 5 year old replanted trees. I propose maintaining the largest Silver Birch and removing the other five. Separately this winter I intend to plant 3 Sweet Chestnut trees, 1 Beech and 1 Oak on the other side of our garden.
