Council planning record

1. Poplar - has grown very tall and will grow more. it is close to the boundary with the Weller family and poses a potential risk in high winds. It is in an exposed position. The tree is much taller than expected and unstable. Request removal. 2. Walnut - leaning heavily to one side, probably due to excessive weight of branches. Clearly unstable and a serious risk. Request: remove a number of heavy and large branches on the leaning side. Crown thinning. 3. Holm Oak - close to boundary. Blocking light to neighbour's property and overhanging. Request: reduce crown by 1/2. 4. Field Maple - next to Holm Oak. Same problem. Too close to the boundary and so causing a nuisance to the adjoining property. Request: reduce crown by 1/2. 5. Eucalyptus - has grown much taller than expected. Close to neighbour's house and could be a risk in high winds. We have noticed the eucalyptus is rather shallow rooted and vulnerable to high winds. Request: reduce crown by 1/2. 6. White Poplar - again much taller than intended, close to neighbour's property, and hence a risk in high winds of toppling over. Request: removal. 7. Apple tree: an ancient apple tree, but now unstable due to age and hollowing of the trunk. Top section at risk of falling. Request: crown reduction by approx 1/3. 8. Two Ash: both trees were crown reduced about 5 years ago. Both have re-grown substantially. We are concerned at the stability of both, given their age and the weight they bear. Both are on the boundary and could be a risk to our neighbours. Request: crown reduction by approx 1/3. The trees have been inspected by a professional arborist, Mr G Downs, he has advised us in making the above requests.
