Council planning record

The tree is an old Acer which has been the centrepiece of the rear garden at Nettlebed House since we moved here 30 years ago. The photos attached show the second large branch to come down in the past month. Dave Cottrell has advised that the tree is rotten and there is a danger that other large boughs will fall in high winds. These boughs are now on the house side of the tree and there is a significant risk that they may cause damage to the Grade II listed house and laid out garden. The 2 boughs which have already fallen fortunately caused minimal damage. That is the reason for the five day notice. I should stress that we are very unhappy to have to take this action as the garden has been planned around the tree which is a major feature.
