Council planning record

Works to balance the canopy of a large mature yew tree identified as T1 of Gosberton Bank Tree Preservation Order No.3 2007. The tree is located in the grounds of Bank House Nursing Home, Gosberton Bank. 1.Remove minor broken branches and poor pruning cuts(stub ends). 2.Remove any rubbing branches or crossing ones likely to rub. 3.Remove all dead wood and carry out a minor crown thin to remove some small branches causing congestion in the crown, which will become shaded out. 4.Crown raise by up to 2.5 metres from ground level. 5.Selectively prune canopy from overhanging the neighbouring arable field which will help to balance the tree. 5.Re-shape crown by a reduction by no more then 2.0 metres all round; particularly the lower branches to a height of up to approximately 5.0 metres. This will help insure that the crown retains a trim appearance and help prevent the development of extra long pendulous branches weighted with growth at the apex; which may be vulnerable to damage by heavy snow fall. The overall crown reduction is likely to be in the region of 25%.
