Council sourceWorks to trees within the churchyard of Saint Mary and the Holy Rood Church, Donington. All are within the Conservation Area and those adjacent to the western edge of the original boundary of the Churchyard are within Group One of Donington Tree Preservation Order No. 8, 1991. Please refer to the reference numbers on the plan attached to the decision notice. Lime trees No.16-24. For each tree, pollard to 1/3 approx. above existing pollard knot removing any other dead or diseased branches to promote a healthy recovery of the tree. Special note being taken of trees 16-19 inc. as they are slightly higher. Every effort will be made to ensure the future health of the trees is taken into consideration. Lime trees No. 1-7. For each tree, pollard to 1/3 approx. above existing pollard knot removing any other dead or diseased branches to promote a healthy recovery of the tree. Tree No.7 to be stripped of ivy and assessed as to whether it would blend in with trees 8-14. All work done with the intention of promoting the future health of the trees.(from the plan it would appear that Tree No.7 is subject to Donington tree Preservation Order No.8 1991.) If lime tree No.7 has not been pollarded, treat like Trees 8-14 if required, (avoid pollarding if not previously carried out). Lime trees No. 8-14 ( Trees within Group One of Donington Tree Preservation Order No. 8, 1991). For each tree, reduce crown by 25% and remove any deadwood and branches that dangerously overhang. Every effort will be taken to ensure the natural shape of the tree continues to thrive. Likely to be a sycamore (species not noted on plan) Tree No.15, pollard to healthy wood to make it safe as an attempt to save the tree from felling. If this attempt fails then we would have to remove the tree in the future.
