The tree is a Sycamore located within 6 meters of the cottage and neighbouring buildings, with the canopy overhanging the property. The roots are embedded in a brook side retaining stone wall and are undermining the wall. The tree has recently shown worrying signs of damage a large crack has appeared in the bark for the full height of the trunk. The heart of the canopy has a lot of dead branches which are continually falling. We believe that this tree is a danger to the properties and needs to be felled.

A line of self-set mixed species consisting of sycamore and ash alongside a dry stone wall on the southern side of Humphrey Gate heading up the hill out of Taddington to the common land within the Conservation Area. There are ash in Stage 4 ash dieback and dead and decaying stems dotted along the narrow highway verge, counted around 110 stems at around 15 to 20dbh and 10m height up to the common land. These stems have been marked red as they are within reach of the highway. The line of ash continues round the outskirts of the common land and propose to fell ash likely to fall onto the dry stone wall as well, approx 90 stems. This road is hierarchy level 5 so is inspected every couple of years and to maintain highway safety these tree works are needed. From a character and appearance and amenity value, the young trees provide much needed habitat for wildlife and a green corridor into and out of Taddington given the treeless nature of the surrounding drystone wall... read more

T1 weeping Beech reduction. Remove limbs growing out of the weeping canopy at the top, reduce the side branches back by 2-3m to bring the sides in to the inner canopy and give clearance for the building next door and off the road. Sympathetically lift to still give a nice weeping canopy but allow passage underneath the tree.

Shown in the photographs are three lime trees and one willow tree. On the Willow I request to reduce the vast majority of the large lateral limb to the growth points around the area indicated by the red line. This is to remove the risk of failure and thus damaging the hedge and fence below. Although the limb would look more aesthetically pleasing if it were to be completely removed I feel there is a risk of damaging the structural integrity of the remainder of the tree by creating such a large wound that close to the main trunk.Of the three lime trees I request to crown lift roughly to the height indicated by the red line as well as removing the epicormic growth from the bottom tree. The intention is to allow more light onto the drive and hopefully help save the yew tree shown in the final photograph that is massively in decline due to being outcompeted by the limes.

Work relates to two trees in the "Group of mature Sycamore" marked as G1 on the map provided on the TPO (TPO_077A). We are requesting to be permitted to 'fell a dead twin stem sycamore on a roadside boundary.' It is angled across Oaks Lane and if it did fall would block the road. We were therefore advised by all three arboriculturalists that viewed the site that it should be taken down. The second tree is a hollowed sycamore in the same group, again close to the roadside, where we are requesting permission to 'reduce the tree to approximately 6-9m to retain habitat.' We are further requesting permission, due to the location of the tree to be felled (in a cluster of mature sycamores and on a boundary wall) not to replace this tree.

T1 Beech – Proposal to crown thin by 20% to reduce wind sail and improve the overall longevity and structural integrity of the tree. Additionally, a lateral reduction of approximately 2 metres is requested on three limbs extending toward a regularly used seating area. This will be carried out back to appropriate growth points to reduce the risk of limb failure and ensure continued safe use of the area beneath.

1)Cut back branches on main road - some overhanging road and some starting to block height restriction signs on the railway bridge again - as previously dealt with 3 years ago by National Trust. 2) Cut back branches and removal of dead branches on Station Approach - some are overhanging the road and pulling at telephone wires. 3) Cut back overhanging branches from back of the Penny Pot Café. I have spoken to Northern Rail and they have advised that unless we need to be on their land to do the cutting we don’t require permission for these. 4) Cut back overhanging branches from land adjacent to The Penny Pot Café (covered with TPO). As part of the decarbonise plan we have secured a grant towards the cost of installing solar panels on the front facing roof of the Penny Pot Café. Obviously there is a slight risk to the panels & roof of possible falling branches etc as well as the added cleaning needed. There is also a the reduction in efficiency of the solar panels from shading

What these statistics cover

These figures describe applications collected by PlanningTrack for Peak District National Park Authority, across all dates currently available. They are a partial dataset, rather than an authority-wide performance measure. The date range does not establish continuous historical coverage.

The approval percentage is approved records divided by approved plus refused records. Pending, withdrawn and unknown outcomes are excluded. No percentage is shown until there is an approved or refused record.
